Safety Supervisor
COURSE OBJECTIVES
This course is designed for participants to identify and understand OHS&W obligations and responsibilities
(Duty of Care) for employers and employees to develop the skills and knowledge to enable them to act as
“Safety Supervisors” pursuant to the consolidated Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

• Describe legislative OH&S duties
• Explain consultation procedures
• Apply approved codes of practice to work on site
• Recognise the importance of hazard management
• Relate hazard management to statutory legal requirements
• Identify and describe role and function of the Inspectorate
• Access OH&S plant regulations
• Apply prevention of falls regulations to workplace
• Explain consultative role of OH&S Representatives and Committees
• Identify approaches which enable hazard identification, risk assessment and
controls to be applied in the workplace

PREREQUISITES
• Ability to use and understand basic English
• Participants must have successfully completed Construction Industry
Common Safety Induction Course (White Card). Participants should have a minimum of 5 years
civil construction experience to attend this course.
